With over 7 years in the digital workspace, I specialize in crafting accurate, meaningful datasets that power AI systems around the world.

Beyond the workspace, I'm an active member of the Data Labelers Association, where I advocate for the rights and welfare of data labelers. My work focuses on fighting for fair pay, ethical working conditions, and clear, respectful contracts that reflect the true value of our contributions to the AI industry.

My name is Kauna Malgwi, I’m a clinical psychologist, trauma survivor, and advocate for the mental health and rights of digital workers.
I founded the Digital and Mental Health Initiative to support content moderators and other digital workers facing psychological harm, where I fight for fair wages, safer working conditions, and trauma-informed mental health care.
My advocacy has taken me to global platforms, where I’ve testified before the European Parliament, pushing for stronger protections for platform workers. I have also been honored among TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in AI (2024) and the BBC’s 100 Women.

I’m currently pursuing my PhD, combining my clinical expertise and lived experience to challenge systemic injustice and design healing frameworks that prioritize human dignity.

Michael Geoffrey is a fearless advocate for digital workers and a devoted father whose journey from data labeler to movement builder spans over five years. With firsthand experience powering AI systems, he speaks out boldly on the injustices faced by those behind the screens, championing fair wages, mental health protections, and workers’ rights. Grounded in his role as a family man and driven by a deep sense of justice, Michael is a powerful voice in the global fight for dignity in the digital economy.

Naftali Andati Wambalo is an experienced content moderator, translator, and AI data trainer with a strong background in online community engagement. Having worked with global tech firms, including Samasource and Meta, Naftali has honed his expertise in content moderation, English to Kiswahili translation, and data labeling. With over five years of experience, he has supported multiple languages in trust and safety environments while providing insights to enhance end-user satisfaction. A passionate advocate for platform workers, Naftali champions fair pay, improved working conditions, and psychological support for content moderators. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Pure and Applied Mathematics and has certifications in cryptography and emotional intelligence. Outside of his professional work, Naftali is dedicated to social entrepreneurship, leadership, and talent management, striving to make a positive impact on both his community and the broader tech industry.

Dr. Beth Gutelius is research director at the Center for Urban Economic Development at the University of Illinois Chicago and a freelance researcher. Her academic and consulting career has focused on labor markets, the impacts of technological change on jobs and workers, and building worker power. Beth is a frequent commentator in major U.S. news outlets and she has advised the White House, the National Economic Council, and the U.S. Department of Labor on job-quality issues and the impacts of new technologies on workers. In addition, Beth has worked with workers’ rights groups to develop research to inform strategic policy and organizing campaigns. Beth holds a Ph.D. in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois Chicago and a B.A. in Cultural and Interdisciplinary Studies from Antioch College.

Martijn Arets is an international independent platform expert and from his role as 'professional outsider' has been exploring the rise of the platform economy and its impact on society since 2012. He engages with all stakeholders involved, conducts research and takes an active role in the (public) debate. He shares his insights through publications, presentations and contributions in the (international) media.

He wrote the Dutch book 'Platform Revolution - From Amazon to Zalando, the impact of platforms on how we work and live'. Martijn is 'lead gig team' at the WageIndicator Foundation and here he contributed among other things to the development of the Living Tariff: a methodology for a cost-of-living based tariff floor for self-employed workers. He is also founder of GigCV: a data sharing standard that allows 100,000 platform workers in 6 countries to access their data. Finally, Martijn is conducting research into data portability for gig workers at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.

A legal consultant with a background in litigation, contract law, and emerging
technologies, holding a Master’s degree in Emerging Technologies and the Law. Her work sits at
the intersection of tech policy, platform governance, and labour rights, with a focus on how
digital transformation is reshaping legal protections for workers.
She has contributed to forums and collaborative policy spaces focused on the future of work and
inclusive regulation, and has taken part in research examining AI-driven discrimination in the
UK context. Her current focus is on spotlighting the often-invisible experiences of online platform
workers, particularly data labelers, content moderators, and crowd workers who are central to
Africa’s growing digital economy yet frequently left out of mainstream policy discussions.
Her current interests include building worker-aware regulatory frameworks, supporting digital
sovereignty, and promoting inclusive innovation across borders. She brings a grounded, policy-
sensitive perspective to conversations on the future of work and the evolving role of law in
platform economies.
She brings a grounded, worker-centered perspective to urgent questions of how innovation,
regulation, and justice can be meaningfully aligned in digital labour governance.

Angela Chukunzira is a researcher and a social justice advocate with a strong  focus on  the intersection of technology, labour, and human rights. She holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Johannesburg.  Her work spans several domains, with a notable emphasis on digital labour, human rights, and the political economy of technological change in Africa. She has previously supported advocacy for human rights defenders across the African continent, particularly in the areas of environment, LGBTQI+, and women’s rights. Her research experience is marked by significant contributions to projects exploring digital work and its socio-political impacts.
