Roy is a Certified Graduate Master of Architecture from Curtin University with over 6 years’ experience in Architectural Design, Spatial Planning, Project Management and Branding. His previous research involved the design of education institutions in Informal Urban Settlements with a focus on the improvement of the Quality of Space. He analysed the current state of classrooms in the informal urban settlements by referring to the different environmental conditions (e.g. ventilation & air quality), physical conditions (e.g. site location and context) and socio-cultural conditions (e.g. health, sanitation and culture), found in these settlements. He is currently involved in Sustainable Design research and Cultural / Community based design.

His efforts have been acknowledged through leadership awards and award nominations in Malaysia and Australia, respectively. He currently serves on the board of the Kenya Green Building Society (KGBS) as the Head of Technical committee where he leads the research on alternative Building Materials and Technologies for Affordable Housing.

Skilled in gender and youth integration, program evaluation, communication, report writing, and program development with a Master’s Degree focused on Environmental Governance. Over 15 years of experience in developing and expanding learning partnerships and supporting science-policy engagement processes in Africa and also at the global level with a focus on integrating biodiversity, gender, climate change, and agriculture policies and programmes

Kililo is a Co-Founder and CEO of MycoTile that offers advanced building materials; locally manufactured using readily available agricultural waste and rapidly growing mushroom mycelium as bonding agent.

He is an alumnus of the African Design Centre in Kigali, a fellowship program by MASS Design Group and currently doubles as a Consulting Architect and Researcher at Cave_bureau in Nairobi.

Etta Madete brings over 10 years of experience in Architecture and Real Estate to Zima Homes, specializing in housing development, architecture, real estate and development finance. As the Founding Director and Board Chair, Etta is responsible for portfolio growth, partnerships, impact measurement and company governance. Etta is passionate about the scalable delivery of Sustainable, Affordable, & Gender-Inclusive Housing in Emerging Markets.

Dr.Sylvia is a general practitioner. She has a keen interest in public health and research work focused on prevention strategies and ways of improving diagnosis and care of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and cancer. She believes that service to humanity is service to God, and devotes her spare time participating in medical camps and mission work.

Jaime Velasco Pérez is a Nairobi-based architect with experience as lead designer and construction manager on a diversity of educational, health-care and residential projects across East Africa.

Known for thoughtful and context-driven design, Jaime brings a wealth of architectural insight to Biophilic Africa 2025. His work reflects a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and cultural sensitivity in the built environment.
